How are the vapor blanket, nucleate boiling, and convection stages of liquid quenching handled in DANTE?

The heat transfer coefficient applied to the part surface is defined as a function of part surface temperature. By doing so, the 3 stages can easily be represented.

Does the ambient temperature change during liquid quenching?

Generally, no. The quenching vessel is generally designed to be large enough that no appreciable temperature rise is witnessed in the fluid. Therefore, most simulations assume a constant ambient temperature for liquid quenching.
